LUMBERTON — A man was shot and wounded when a fight broke out at what appeared to be a party in Rowland, according to information from the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded about 1:50 a.m. Sunday to a report of shots fired at 444 Dawns Drive, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Witnesses told the deputies that an altercation broke out between two groups of males, according to a statement from the Sheriff’s Office. When the fight began the homeowner fired shots into the air, which caused the everyone to disperse.
One group of males left the home in a gray Chrysler 300 and one of them shot back toward the residence as the vehicle departed. A man, whose name was not disclosed, was struck and taken to Scotland Memorial for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
The investigation continues.
