FLORENCE, S.C. — The Florence Little Theatre will open its 2017-18 season with the “The Music Man, Jr.”, a family-friendly adaptation of the classic musical comedy that tells a story with wit, warmth, good old-fashioned romance and bold songs.

Performed by a cast of actors 6 to 18 years old, it will show over two weekends, July 14, 15 and 16, and July 21, 22 and 23. Reserved seat tickets are $15 adult, $12 for people 62 and older, $10 students and children under 18. Tickets can be purchased by calling the box office at 843- 662-3731, Mondays through Fridays, from noon to 5 p.m.

The show follows fast-talking traveling salesman, Harold Hill, as he cons the people of River City into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys’ band he vows to organize. The catch? He doesn’t know a trombone from a treble clef.

Directed by Lisa Sims, it is a 60-minute show recommended for people 8 and older.

For information, call the Florence Little Theatre at 843-662-3731 and hit prompt No. 3.
