LUMBERTON — A special meeting of the Public Schools of Robeson County has been called for Thursday.
The board is to meet at 6 p.m. at Lumberton City Hall, located at 500 N. Cedar St, according to information released Tuesday by the school district’s administration. Thursday’s meeting is a result of the cancellation of the special meeting that was scheduled for Oct. 29.
The Robesonian will provide live stream coverage on Facebook.
Agenda items include personnel, the BB&T building that was being used as a central office, School Achievement Awards and teacher allotments.
The school district’s central office moved from Pembroke to the former BB&T service center on Kahn Drive in Lumberton this past summer. Floodwaters generated by Hurricane Florence in mid-September forced personnel out and into Lumberton Junior High School, while the 20,000-square-foot building was rehabilitated.
After 30 days of repair work and testing for mold, the BB&T building was turned back over to the public schools on Oct. 23. Central staff have not yet returned to the building.
