LUMBERTON — A Lumberton man has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the stabbing death of his girlfriend.
Timothy Ledwell, 47, was arrested Monday in the wake of a domestic dispute on Saturday that left Pamela Roberts, 59, dead, according to Lt. Damien McLean, of the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office. The dispute took place at Roberts’ home, 2268 McPhail Road in Lumberton. Roberts died at the scene.
Ledwell was hospitalized and treated for self-inflicted wounds. Investigators said he tried to kill himself.
Ledwell’s first appearance in court was Tuesday in the Robeson County Courthouse before District Court Judge Dale Deese. He was jailed under a $500,000 secured bond and assigned a lawyer from the Robeson County Public Defender’s office.
