LUMBERTON — Deputies found the body of a 63-year-old man near Red Springs on Monday, according to information from the county Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a call regarding an unresponsive person about 3:28 p.m. and found the body in a vehicle on the 8000 block of Old Red Springs Road, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release. The vehicle was at a pond about 1.5 miles from Red Springs town limits.
“The initial investigation does not show any signs of homicide,” the release reads in part.
The name of the dead person is not being released at this time, according to the release.
