LUMBERTON — Gregory Mitchel Ministries and the city of Lumberton will try again Saturday with the City-Wide Rejuvenation Day, which postponed from last weekend because of bad weather.
The event is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Northeast Park, located at 500 Hornet Road.
This forecast is a high of 91 degrees, partly sunny and a chance of thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service.
The day is about people getting to know one another, having a good time and helping people move on with their lives in the wake of Hurricane Matthew, said Laney McIntosh, an event organizer.
“We want all different people, all different races, to come out and enjoy themselves, to have a good time, to rejuvenate,” she said.
Free school supplies will be given out during the event, and free hot dogs will be served. There also will be live entertainment, a vintage car show and health screenings. Bounce houses, and wet and dry slides will be available for the children.
