•Sept. 2-Oct. 8

Art exhibit: Elizabethtown artist Ed Harris will be exhibiting floral, landscape, still life, and wildlife watercolors in at the Bladenboro Art Gallery in the Bladenboro Historical Society Building, located at 818 S. Main St.

•Sept. 8

Florence Theatre: The Florence Little Theatre will open the season with “Beauty and the Beast” at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $30 for adults, $25 for people 62 and older, and $18 for students and children. For information, call the box office at 843-662-3731.

•Sept. 8-9

Tractor pull: The Robeson County Shriners-Sudan Tomcats will hold a Truck and Tractor Pull both evenings at 7 at the Robeson County Fairgrounds, located at 3750 N.C. 41 South in Lumberton. Admission is $20 for people ages 13 and up, $5 for those ages 6 to 12 and free for children 5 and under. The event is the largest fundraiser for the club, which raises money for Shriner hospitals.

•Sept. 9

Walk to Remember: The 9/11 Remembrance Walk will be 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Luther Britt Park in Lumberton. The Remembrance Walk will begin at 8:35 am. This will be a 3.43-mile walk. There will be fluids along the route. Firefighters are requested to wear full turnout gear, airpack optional.

Remembrance Ceremony: The Border Belt Museum in Fairmont will host a 9/11 Remembrance ceremony in downtown Fairmont on the museum grounds starting at 8:30 a.m.

Lecture Series: Chuck Collins, a proponent of sharing wealth, will open the Ruth Pauley Lecture Series at 7:30 p.m. in the Owens Auditorium at Sandhills Community College in Pinehurst.

SUPPORT GROUPS

For the Blind: Sunshine Seekers is a support group that meets 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesdays at the Lumberton Bowling Center. The group also meets every second Thursday of the month at 10 a.m. at Pine Steet Senior Center. Participants must be legally blind. Some of the activities include attending musicals, sports camps, exercise, bowling and fishing trips. For information, call 910-671-3881.

For the Deaf and Hard of Hearing: A support group for the deaf and hard of hearing is held every third Saturday of each month from 2 to 5 p.m. at Pine Street Senior Center. For information, call 9120-671-3881.

For Seniors: The Golden Ladies support group meets at 10 a.m. every Thursday at the Pine Street Senior Center. Members must be 50 years old or older. For information, call Tonya at 910-671-3881.

For Family and Friends of Homicide Victims: The Chad Allen Arnette Families and Friends of Murder and Homicide Victims support group meets the last Tuesday of each month at Bible Alive Ministries in Lumberton. For information, call Debra Arnette at 910-734-1527.

Robeson County Caregivers: The Lumber River Council of Governments, Area Agency on Aging offers a caregiver support group to assist local caregivers with information, education and support. Crafts: Craft classes will be held 1 to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at Pine Street Senior Center. Make all kinds of crafts for all occasions. No experience is necessary. For information, call 910-671-3881.
