LUMBERTON — A tractor-trailer rig will depart Lumberton today loaded with donated goods to help the victims of Hurricane Harvey.
“The truck is currently being loaded and it will be leaving tomorrow by noon,” Sharon Hunt, administrative assistant to Lumberton’s city manager, said Tuesday.
More is needed, Hunt said. Hurricane Harvey’s victims still need nonperishable food, water, cleaning supplies, bleach, diapers and hygiene items.
“We will continue to accept donations and help the people of Hurricane Harvey and pay it forward to the victims in Florida,” Hunt said.
Anyone wanting to help Harvey’s victims can make donations at the Lumberton City warehouse located at 2300 Cedar St.
Donations of furniture to help local victims of Hurricane Matthew are also being accepted at the warehouse.
