LUMBERTON — The state Highway Patrol will not charge anyone in a three-vehicle accident that killed three people on N.C. 711 on Friday because the person found at fault died in the wreck.

Killed were Craig Allen Locklear, 24, of Lowe Road, Lumberton; Andrew Locklear, 32, of 112 Barry Road, Lumberton; and Tamara Davis, 20, of 81 Wimbledon Road, Parkton, according to the report by Trooper Travis Bryant of the state Highway Patrol. Two other people were injured, including one critically.

According to Bryant’s report, Craig Allen Locklear was driving a 2009 Toyota passenger car west on N.C. 711 with Andrew Locklear as a passenger when the vehicle drifted off the road to the right. Locklear over-corrected and the car went left of center and struck a 2003 Acura SUV being driven by Angela Butler Davis, 43, of 81 Wimbledon Road, Parkton.

Angela Butler Davis was seriously injured and Tamara Davis, a passenger in the vehicle who lived at the same address, was killed when it plunged into a ditch. The Davises’ relationship was not indicated on the report.

A second person, Chelsey Revels, 29, of 759 Roberts Ave., Pembroke, was injured when her 2000 Volkswagon was hit by the Toyota and both vehicles came to rest in eastbound traffic. The report said her injuries were “evident.”

The accident happened at 2:55 p.m. Friday, about a mile from Pinecrest Country Club.

None of the vehicles were drivable. Everyone was wearing a seat belt except Andrew Locklear.
