LUMBERTON — A 22-year-old man is dead and a teenager is fighting for his life after a double-shooting late Tuesday in South Lumberton.

The Lumberton Police Department received a call at 11:13 p.m. concerning shots being fired at 212 Holly St, according to a statement from Capt. Terry Parker.

Responding officers found Keshion Devonta Hill, whose last known address is on Pope’s Crossing Road, dead from what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds. Jameson Hill, 19, whose last known address is West 26th Street, was found to have suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

Jameson Hill was taken to Southeastern Regional Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, and then transferred to an undisclosed hospital. Parker said the men are not related.

Parker said in Wednesday’s statement that details are limited because the investigation is just beginning.

The State Bureau of Investigation is assisting Lumberton police in the investigation. Detectives Evan Whitley and Dereck Evans are leading the information. Anyone with information is asked to call 910-671-3845 and ask for either detective.
