LUMBERTON — Beginning this week, Dr. Michael Maggitti of Southeastern Orthopedics will treat patients every Wednesday at Southeastern Medical Clinic Gray’s Creek.
Maggitti, an orthopedic surgeon, received his medical degree from Temple University Medical School in Philadelphia. He completed an orthopedic residency at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center/Columbia University in New York City. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and is a fellow of the American Association of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons. His areas of special interest include total joint replacement, arthroscopic knee and shoulder surgery, and trauma and adult fracture care.
Before joining Southeastern Health, Maggitti was in private practice in suburban Philadelphia for 28 years. He served two terms as chief of staff at Brandywine Hospital Trauma Center and was elected vice president of the Chester County Medical Society. More recently, he was employed by Hospital Corporation of American in North Florida before relocating to Robeson County.
